There is no denying that Gilgit Baltistan is a land of pure beauty. There are some of the most attractive places in the world, and once a person visits them, they will fall in love with their beauty.

K2

The mountain was discovered by Col. T.G. Montgomery of the Indian Survey and it was given the symbol K2 because it was the second peak measured in the Karakoram Range.

K2 is also known as Mount Godwin-Austin or Chhogori (in the Balti language), and at 8611 meters (28251 ft) above sea level, it is the 2nd highest mountain in the world. It is located in the Skardu region of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan.

The first climber to reach the summit of K2 twice was Czech climber Josef Rakoncaj, who was a member of the 1983 Italian expedition led by Francisco Stanton which made the second successful ascent of the North Ridge in July 1983.

In 2004, a Spanish climber, Carlos Soria Fontan, became the oldest person at the age of 65 to ever summit the K2.

ISHKOMAN VALLEY

Ishkoman is the most northern region of Gilgit Baltistan and it is located on the border between Tajikistan and Pakistan. From 1947 to the present, the area was subject to the Frontier Crimes Regulation of the Pakistan Federal Government, and Chatorkhand was designated as the region's capital. There are 25 villages in the region with a total population of 30,000 inhabitants, and four languages are spoken here (Shina, Wakhi, Khowar, and Burushaski). The residents of the region are friendly and more educated than in other regions of Gilgit.

There is one college and three high schools in the region. The main source of income is the cultivation of wheat, corn, potatoes, and fruit. The climate remains moderate all year. The Ishkoman River joins the Gilgit Region at Gahkuch (The capital of the Ghizer Region).

DEOSAI- ROOF OF THE WORLD
Deosai was declared a National Park in 1993 and it is the world's second highest plateau, also known as the roof of the world, at more than 13000 ft above sea level, a beautiful picnic point. It is the home of the Himalayan brown bear, Himalayan Golden Eagles, Marmots, Red Foxes, Ibex, Snow Leopards, and White Tigers, all endangered species of animals in the world.
